Detroit City: The Heidelberg Project

Detroit’s become quite popular in the last few years, and no place as much as the Heidelberg Project.  Growing up, my parents used to drive us through Heidelberg and tell us that Dr. Seuss lived there!  Those were some of the fondest memories of my life.

The Heidelberg was made by Tyree Guyton, using items and a location that many people considered garbage.  Take a look at some of the items he chose: shoes, bikes, toys, and other things that at one time were loved or considered essential.  Now, think about using them as he did in the place that he chose.

I’d like to say that everyone values the Heidelberg as much as most people do, but last year some assholes set fire to many of the houses.  To read more about that, and to get more information on the Heidelberg Project, please visit their website.
